Description
As a young man, Lord Krishna loved to dally and dance with the gopis or milkmaids in the forests of Brindavan. In this painting, a master painter of Orissa has depicted the blue god encircling the waist of Radha - with the flute in his hand. The divine couple is drawn together, rapturously gazing into each other joyous eyes. The dancing milkmaids, the spotted deer and the bright peacocks are mesmerized by the divine dancers. The artist has used vegetable colors and dyes which are vividly heightened by the natural luster of Tussar silk.
